Some days it feels like everything goes wrong—one unfortunate event after another. Family feuds, unexplained illnesses, strange accidents, unexpected losses, and bankruptcy. This, my child, is often called misfortune. But misfortune doesn’t come alone. It goes hand in hand with envy, the evil eye, charged energy, broken promises, and even sleeping spells.
In the Land of the Howler Monkey, when people come to me saying their life is falling apart for no reason, I listen, pray, and observe. Something has been done; there’s stagnant energy; ancestors are calling for cleansing. Misfortune has a smell, a trace, a weight. And it calls for a strong blessing.

Healer Cris Meinberg’s Tips Against Misfortune:
Bless your house’s entrance with rue and St. George’s sword.
Every Monday, focus your mind and say, “Misfortune shall not enter here. My house is protected by God and my spirit guides.”
Also on Mondays, tune in to ‘Live Blessing with the Healer’ to keep anything that needs to be pushed away at a distance.
Take a cleansing bath with boldo, guinea pepper, and basil. This purifies your body and keeps negativity away. Pour it over your body from head to toe while praying.
Never speak the word “misfortune” as destiny. Words have power. Instead, say, “This shall pass. I’m a child of light. Evil doesn’t reach me.”
Wear an amulet, a cross, or a mojo for protection. Pray devoutly as you put it on. It is indeed an amulet, but with a soul.
Conduct a spiritual cleansing in your home. Burn rosemary and benzoin in every corner, and loudly declare: “All that is not light, be gone. This house is protected by the force of Creation.”
Blessing to Keep Misfortune at Bay
By Cris Meinberg, Healer from the Land of the Howler Monkey
“In the name of the Divine Mother, Grandmother Moon, the Sun that rules our paths, and the Earth that upholds my steps, I now call upon the presence of my spirit guides, the masters of ancient light, the caboclos from the forest, the old moors, the invisible healers, and all my light ancestors who have been walking with me since my first breath.
I bless this body, this mind, this spirit. I bless them with the power of the living word, with pure intention, concerning the sacred.
I bless against the evil eye, against every announced misfortune, against the old quebranto, against unpaid promises, hidden work, concealed demands, concealed envy, the wandering soul, and all heavy burdens that do not belong to this person.
I untie knots. I cut ties that bind. I set the being free, I set the soul free, I free the paths.
May all profound sadness, all heavy burdens of the heart, all silent suffering be taken away now.
May whatever was commissioned against this life return to dust, dry in the wind, and lose its strength in the abyss of time.
Whatever doesn’t belong to this field, may it go.
Whatever was taken wrongly or unjustly, may it return.
May whatever is sacredly rightful present itself again with blessings.
May the paths be reopened with flowers and strength.
May the heart be strengthened with faith and courage.
May the spirit be purified in living waters flowing down from the mountain.
By the power of the Starry Sky, the Earth pulsating beneath my feet, the Fire that transforms, and the Water that cleanses and renews, I bless, I declare, I invoke, and I revere.
And by the strength of the sacred, may no misfortune touch this life.
May no evil find shelter.
May no shadow remain where light resides.
So be it, so be done, so it shall stay.
In the name of the Mother, the Father, the Son, and the Spirit of Nature. Amen, so it is.”
Misfortune Only Enters Where Protection Is Lacking
Don’t let life turn upside down. Strengthen your field. Surround yourself with faith, presence, prayer, and ancestral wisdom. The Healer doesn’t just keep evil away—they reconnect you with your inner light.
